CARE GUIDE
BED LINENS
Machine washing
Wash your linens at a low temperature on a gentle cycle. Delicate fabrics should not be subjected to any hot temperatures or any vigorous spinning cycles. Given the nature of the fabrics it is advisable to use only mild biodegradable detergents or soaps. These should ever be poured directly onto your linens. In the case of stain removal, only use enzyme reactive stain removers. Never use chlorine, bleach or any stain removers or detergents that contain lighteners/whiteners. Avoid overloading the machine as this may cause the long staple yarns of the Egyptian cotton to break.

It always best to wash your linens prior to their first use. Our linens take into account the standard shrinkage which occurs naturally after the first few washes of natural fibres. This way you can ensure that your linens fit as intended.
Fabric softener
Do not use fabric softeners. Softeners reduce the absorbency and breathability of natural fibres in the long term and therefore impact the quality and longevity of your bed linens. Adding a small amount of distilled white vinegar to the final rinse cycle will remove any residues that stiffen cotton sheets.
Tumble drying
The best way to dry your linens is to air dry them. However if there is a necessity to use a tumble dryer, use the lowest setting and remove your linens when they are still damp. Do not let them dry out. The overheating of the fabric which occurs in the last minutes of the drying cycle causes it to dry out too quickly. In the long term this has a negative impact on the softness and suppleness of your linens.
Ironing
It is best to iron your linens when they are still slightly damp. If this is not possible then it is advisable to lightly spray your linens with water prior to ironing. This will help remove any more stubborn creases. Make sure the iron is set to the right temperature for the fabric.
Any embroidery (including monograms) should be ironed on the reverse side to prevent discolouration of the thread.
Storing your linens
After ironing, your linens should be folded neatly to avoid further creasing. They should be stored when dry and away from the light in an area with good air circulation.
Dry cleaning
Specific details on dry cleaning can be found on the labels sewn into your bed linens.
